What a beautiful way to end the last day of August by visiting Laura’s Farm Stand located in Cookstown, Ontario. Sunflowers bring such joy and happiness for all ages! It was worth the one hour (approximately) drive for us, especially with the beautiful blue sky and puffy white clouds as the backdrop. The sunflower trail was a great way to be up close and personal with the sunflowers and to capture some great pictures and videos! We bought a few sunflowers that put a smile on our faces! You can cut your own sunflower with a hand saw provided at the site for only $2 per stem. Definitely, these sunflowers would cheer you up, especially during this covid-19 pandemic. Thank you, Laura, for giving us the opportunity to stroll in your sunflower field! What a great experience and we hope to make this an annual family event for us. We originally shot Adrienne and Tristan’s wedding in Downtown Toronto in 2012. Fast forward to 7 years later, we had a fun time capturing Adrienne and Tristan’s family on a rainy Sunday morning. With each family member doing their part in making breakfast, you could really feel the warmth and love as they enjoyed each other’s company, shoulder to shoulder in the kitchen. Initially, we planned this as an outdoor video shoot, but due to it raining ‘cats and dogs’ we decided to shoot indoors and captured them at play in their natural habitat. It’s always fun to capture the family dynamic at home in their daily life! We’ve interviewed both parents and couldn’t agree more with Adrienne’s quote that, “It’s very true that the days are long but the years are short…I wanna remind myself to be in the present and enjoy every moment because it’s gonna go by so quickly.” This is one of the reasons why we are including a ‘Family Lifestyle Video’ as part of our services…it’s a great way to relive your family moments over and over again! Cherry blossom season is upon us once again and for a short time each year we are treated to a beautiful display of the Japanese Sakura in Toronto! Many will head off to High Park but completely miss the beautiful cherry blossom trees in their own back yard in Scarborough! 1) UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO – SCARBOROUGH CAMPUS – 1265 Military Trail “The cherry blossoms in Sakura Grove located between H-Wing and the Social Sciences building are beginning to bloom, signalling the symbolic arrival of spring.†– U of T Scarborough Website Here’s an update as of May 11th, 2019: The blossoms at the U of T Scarborough Campus are blooming and should be fully open within the next couple of days. 2) BIRKDALE RAVINE – 1100 Brimley Rd. Another pleasant surprise was Birkdale Ravine, both serene and peaceful. After a bit of searching we found where the cherry blossom trees were located (don’t give up if you can’t find them at first). Although these Sakura are a bit younger and were only partially bloomed, they were still beautiful and this location will only get more impressive in the coming seasons. There is truly nothing quite like an outdoor wedding. Especially when the backdrop is at the scenic McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg, Ontario! The weather was beautiful and set the tone for George & Kaitlyn to tie the knot. With signs laying the way down the aisle that said words like ‘hope’, ‘patience’ and ‘love’ you could see that the Bride and Groom were well on their way to knowing the ingredients to a successful and happy marriage. George and Kaitlyn exchanged their heartfelt written vows which were truly meaningful beyond words and you could truly see how genuine their love was for each other. With the exchanging of vows, rings and a single kiss, they were now Husband and Wife! After family photos on the McMichael grounds, the couple made their way off to the Babushka Club for the evening reception. With a wonderful atmosphere and staff, the night was filled with touching speeches by family and friends and wonderful performances by the dancers and musicians for the rest of the evening.
